In an effort to engage a variety of student populations, SRJ has dedicated much of its time to participating in events and holding workshops for as many students as possible.
Loyola Students for Life Dialogue
On March 2nd, Students for Reproductive Justice hosted an event with Loyola Students for Life called "Dialogue in the Den." All realms of reproductive healthcare were addressed and 100+ students attended the event. A livestream of the event garnered over 2,000 views.
As part of our partnership with Howard Brown Health, SRJ hosted two workshops over the course of the Spring 2017 semester. This included a Birth Control 101 presentation on all forms of birth control and a Queer Sex 101 workshop describing safe sex practices for the LGBTQ+ community, hosted in partnership with CARE. SRJ also had the opportunity to work with Planned Parenthood on an internal condom tutorial and information session.
Greek Life Presentations
In response to the accusations against Northwestern's chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, SRJ was invited into Northwestern's chapter of Phi Gamma Delta to provide a presentation on reproductive justice and consent. After positive feedback from the first presentation, this initiative was extended to Loyola where SRJ has presented to Delta Sigma Phi, Lambda Theta Alpha, and Alpha Chi Omega. The curriculum has grown to include sex-positivity, an introduction to reproductive justice, and information pertaining to sexual assault and consent.
